The Federal Government, FG, of Nigeria, through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), has announced that the application portal for the student loan scheme will open on May 24, 2024.

This significant development is part of President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring accessible and inclusive education for all Nigerian students.

In a statement signed by Nasir Ayitogo, Media and Public Relations Lead of NELFUND, it was revealed that the initiative marks a crucial step towards reducing financial barriers for students pursuing higher education. The statement reads:

“The management of Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) led by its Managing Director, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, are thrilled to announce May 24, 2024, as the official date for the opening of the portal for student loan applications. Through the portal, students can now access loans to pursue their academic aspirations without financial constraints.
