Mohbad’s father opens up on late singer’s autopsy report

Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known as Mohbad, has raised concerns about the accuracy of the toxicology and autopsy reports related to his son’s death.

In May, a pathologist at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) reported to the Coroner’s Inquest that the autopsy performed on Mohbad was inconclusive in determining the cause of death.

The pathologist cited several factors for the inconclusive results, including body decomposition and potential reactions to medications Mohbad had taken prior to his death.

Additionally, a toxicology test was conducted at LASUTH, analyzing samples from the gastric content, blood, bone marrow, liver, kidney, and lung.

Findings indicated that Mohbad had an injury on his right forearm and his body showed moderate to severe decomposition when exhumed. While the cause of death could not be definitively established, the report suggested the possibility of a drug reaction based on the post-mortem and toxicology results.

Despite these findings, Joseph Aloba and his family have rejected the toxicology and autopsy reports, alleging possible manipulation of the results.

Speaking on Arise News Television’s Morning Show, Aloba expressed his suspicions: “I, along with the public, suspect foul play in the toxicology report on Mohbad. There were significant delays in the process. Mohbad did not die a natural death; I saw him two days before he died.”

The Aloba family’s legal team also voiced their dissatisfaction, stating, “We, the legal representatives of the Aloba family, are profoundly disappointed with the toxicology test results of the late Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (Mohbad), which have been deemed inconclusive by the pathologist.

“This outcome is entirely unacceptable to us and the Aloba family and raises serious concerns about the integrity and thoroughness of the investigation by the police and medical team into the untimely death of their beloved son, brother, and friend.

“The Aloba family and the world demand to know where the toxicology test was conducted, as this has called into question the integrity of the findings.”
