This scholarship program, founded in 2001, is part of the University of Nottingham’s flagship international program for postgraduate master’s courses, targeting students from African, South Asian, and other selected Commonwealth countries.

You can apply for this scholarship if you:
- Are a national from Africa, India, or any of the Commonwealth countries listed above.
- Are classified as an overseas student for fee purposes
Have not already studied and been awarded an undergraduate or master’s degree outside of your home country
Are not currently studying at a University of Nottingham campus or are not a University of Nottingham graduate
Already hold an offer to start a full-time master’s degree program at the University of Nottingham in the 2024/2025 academic year in an area of study within the listed faculties
NOTE:
Priority is given to candidates who have not previously studied outside of their home country.
How do I Apply – Next Steps
- First, you must apply for and receive an offer to study for a full-time master’s degree before you can apply for the scholarship.
- After you receive a study offer from the University of Nottingham, apply for a scholarship at the scholarship section of the university’s online application system.
- Attach all supporting documents to your application form.
- If you have an offer for an MRes course, you will need to email the scholarships team using the email address on the university website to receive instructions on how to apply for the scholarship.
Selection Criteria
Demonstration of the applicant’s vision and a tangible plan for developing a solution that will contribute positively to developmental challenges in their home country.
